So you have decided to move forward with LASIK surgery. That’s great! The next step is to choose the right LASIK surgeon. How do you choose the right surgeon to correct your vision problems? There are many factors you should take into consideration when choosing a LASIK surgeon.

Here are just a few:

It’s all about your surgeon’s reputation. Are they highly-reputed within the community? Have you heard good stories about them? Are they highly knowledgeable in their field? What is the surgeon’s success rate? What is the surgical center’s success rate? Does the surgeon/surgical center offer patients post-procedure check-ups or adjustments? Are the adjustments at an additional cost to the patients? Will the surgical center be open to answering any questions or concerns that the patient has after the completion of their surgical procedure? Does the surgical center strive for satisfaction in all of their patients? These are questions to ask yourself (as the patient) and of the surgeon and surgical center.

Scope out more information about the surgical center that your potential surgeon is affiliated with. Does the surgical center look clean? Do they have access to the latest technology? Is the staff knowledgeable and friendly? Also, consider the surgical center’s reputation within your community. These are all factors to consider when choosing a surgeon and their practice. Choose a surgical center that makes you feel comfortable and secure.

Do your research on all of the surgical centers within your area. Compare practices and surgical centers to find the best possible option. Research the reputation of each surgical center, the credentials of each surgeon, and the guarantees that the surgical centers offer their patients. Ask family and friends who have undergone LASIK of their experiences and opinions. Absorb as much information as possible about potential surgeons and surgical centers before you move forward with LASIK surgery. Researching and comparing different surgeons and surgical centers will help you make the right decision.
